 Toyota re-establish themselves into the world's number 1 car manufacturer, beating General Motors which has been a serious rival. In 2010, Toyota managed to record sales of 8.418 million units.

While the rival General Motors just pocket the sales of 8.39 million units. Toyota managed to shift the GM and get the top position for three consecutive times since 2008.

Toyota's sales, including Hino Motors and Daihatsu Motor Company Limited was up 8 percent compared to tahun2009 backed market in China and some other Asian countries.

In response, GM spokesman George Hansen pleaded not bother with Toyota's sales are greater than GM. "We do not focus on who is occupying the No. 1 position," said Hansen.

The same thing also expressed through the Toyota spokesman Paul Nolasco. Toyota is also admitted to not thinking about the magnitude of unit sales. "Our main focus to be number one with consumers. We want to be their favorite car manufacturers (customers)," Paul said.

Last year, Toyota had to work hard to improve its image in America from Hurricane recall more than 10 million during 2010. As a result, U.S. sales fell 2 percent to 1.94 million units (from 2009), while other brands were enjoying a resurgence after the market crisis in 2008.
